For those who listened to the way-too-long podcast. Thank you. We will have another shortly which will be short, I promise.
However, this post is more about a fantastic movie I saw this past weekend, "The Nines".
The Nines debuted at Sundance last year and made a whopping $63,000 at the box office. Nevermind the less than stellar performance in the theater, this movie is pretty dang awesome.
I will try and summarize the plot: Gary, Gavin, and Gabriel an actor, writer and video game designer respectively are portrayed by Ryan Reynolds in three short films. Each film independent of the next yet each seemingly happening simultaneously as the prior. We, the viewer, know that they relate to some extent but are restrained by the writer to the extent we so desperately want to know. The writer (John August, "Big Fish") cleverly answers some questions while leaving most of the film for us to ponder. (Think Keyzer Soze meets Neo type thinking.)
After I finished watching I immediately watched the DVD extras and started prying Heather, Zach and Leanne's mind as to the meaning.
Anyways, if you haven't seen it, rent it or rather Netflix it. Let me know what you think about it all (and please do not comment on Ryan Reynolds body... we all already know about it).
